Traveling to places with hard conditions

Today more and more tourists are visiting places where conditions are difficult, such as the Sahara desert or the Antarctic.
What are the benefits and disadvantages for tourists who visit such places?

Nowadays, all famous points of interests are usually overcrowded and overpriced, since a lot of tourists visit these places, it may not spark as much interest in social media. As a result, it motivates people look for some unique and niche attractions to be the first person visiting them. However, there are both pros and cons in deciding to undertake this type of journey. In this essay, I will discuss some of the reasons why travelers take a risk to go to extremely dangerous and solitary places and the challenges that need to be overcome.

One of the main difficulties in visiting these kinds of places, is that a person may not be well prepared for the trip. For example air temperature in Siberia might drop down to -40 degrees. It is required to wear many layers of warm clothes and as a result people living there have to be fit to carry it, as well as be accustomed to the harsh climate. Also, the hours of daylight are particularly short during the winter. The effect of long night cycles can have a negative effect on the body and may also lead to mental illness. Therefore a tourist traveling to places with tough climate conditions may result in an unenjoyable experience or in them being seriously injured.

Despite this, there are significant advantages of such a trip. One of these could be that a visit to these remote places, untouched by humans, can create timeless memories and novel experiences when witnessing nature in its purest form. Since there are typically a small number of locals who survive in places like the Sahara desert, it is possible to enjoy being alone during sunset taking as many photos as you like with nobody in the background. Therefore it might be a possible choice for people looking for isolation and remoteness from human civilization.

In addition to this, vacationing in places with extreme conditions might also be a possibility to test your limits. Living there can raise considerable challenges for human beings, and survival could be an unforgettable journey allowing for self satisfaction and personal achievement. To illustrate, during a climb to the top of Mt.Everest, around 80% of climbers cannot reach the top due to a variety of reasons, but none of them will forget this trek, since it is extremely formidable, and even by trying to reach the peak, climbers can prove to themselves that everything is possible.

I would therefore argue that although there are disadvantages of the current trend to travel to regions with hard life conditions, they are outweighed by the advantages. Because of human natural desire to explore something new, these tours will become more and more popular.

Thesaurus: it may not spark as much interest (не выстрелит, не будет популярным), extremely dangerous and solitary places, be accustomed to the harsh climate (быть готовым к суровому климату), timeless memories and novel experiences (незабываемые воспоминания и новые впечатления), isolation and remoteness from human civilization, self satisfaction and personal achievement, extremely formidable, human natural desire
